An AWESOME recipe

Our church had its annual Christmas dinner Sunday night.  It was so good.  There was a lot of food!

We had a wonderful time!  Our pastor's beautiful daughter in law brought a dessert that I had to have the recipe for.  So here it is!

Oreo Balls

1 pack of Oreos

1 box of cream cheese (8 oz.)

1 bag of almond bark

Leave your cream cheese on your counter top for at least 30 minutes to soften.

Put Oreos into food processor until they are chopped into very fine pieces.

Once cream cheese is softened, get a big bowl and put cream cheese and Oreos together, use a fork to mix together until it becomes a big ball.

Put wax paper on counter.

Spray your hands with PAM and roll the Oreos/cream cheese into small balls and place on wax paper.

Once all the balls are rolled, warm your almond bark, only four or five pieces at a time in the microwave for no more than 20 seconds at a time.

Using a clean fork, dip Oreo balls into almond bark then place back onto wax paper to harden.

-You can use any flavor Oreos, they are all good.

- If you have time to spare you can place the wax paper on a cookie sheet before hand and once the Oreo balls are rolled out you can place them in the fridge for 30 minutes. This makes the Oreo balls hard, easier to dip and they harden faster).

Kabul24

Title:  KABUL 24

Authors:  Henry O. Arnold and Ben Pearson

Thomas Nelson Publishing

This is the most amazing story of innocent people being falsely accused, imprisoned (Kidnapped really) - all in a 3rd world country.  This story is just captivating.  But it's more than just a story.  The words on these pages really happened.  Once I picked up this book I couldn't hardly put it down!

SNI, Shelter Now International, is a humanitarian effort led by Christians from Western countries.  These wonderful missionaries help the people in the areas they work in to make money to put bread on their tables, give medical care, and be witnesses the best they can without breaking Sharia law.

When words and names like "Taliban" and "Al Qaeda" are involved...you're talking about some of the roughest of the toughest.  These innocent people ended up as hostages and pawns in the games played by dangerous minds.  They were called "infidels" and after these precious people had poured their lives into the Afghani peoples.  But good did come from it!  Seeds of good were planted in hearts throughout their ordeal.

When everything looked dim and hopeless...hope would come alive through different ones that I'm sure God placed in their paths.  Read how this real life adventure unfolds from the beginning...the days BEFORE 9/11 and through to their escape and rescue.  God truly works in mysterious and amazing ways!

Treasured/"God Gave Us" Blog Tour

Well, if you're looking for some great books for Christmas, we have them right here!

WaterBrook Press

"Treasured:  Knowing God by the Things He Keeps" by Leigh McLeroy

This is a beautiful, hard-cover book you will add to your collection of treasures for years to come.  This book has a guide for "personal reflection" and group discussions.  There are 13 chapters in "Treasured".    Each of these chapters describes one of God's treasures and the way God corresponds with each chapter and the author applies it to every day life.  This would be a great Christmas gift, birthday gift, or "just because" gift.

               ~~~~~~~~~~ "God Gave Us LOVE" by Lisa Tawn Bergren~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is a wonderful book for children about the love of God.  It's a fun story about Little Cub and Grampa Bear who are off on a fishing adventure when it's interupted somewhat by some pesky little critters!!  OTTERS!!  Grandpa Bear wisely took this opportunity to teach Little Cub of God's love for everybody....even those who are difficult to love...the unlovables.
I loved the part where Grandpa Bear says, "Any time we show love, Little Cub, we're sharing a bit of His love."
I believe that to be the truth.  This is a really great book and I highly recommend it!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~"God Gave Us Christmas" by Lisa Tawn Bergren~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This precious book is how Little Cub realizes that God Gave Us Christmas!  Little Cub was very curious about how and where Christmas was "vented" as she says.  (invented)  Little Cub's mother wisely explains that Jesus is more important than Santa Clause.

Little Cub and Mama take a trip to "find God".  They found evidence of Him everywhere!  Little Cub is so full of questions, but Mama is able to answer each one with wisdom.

It is wonderful having a book that is easy reading and explains that "Jesus is the best present of all!"  This book would be a great Christmas gift for the young person in your life.
