| Title: Jantsen's Gift Author: Pam Cope with Aimee Molloy Grand Central Publishing Hatchette Book Group This story is one of tragedy to bittersweet triumph. After losing her 15 year old son to an undiagnosed heart ailment unexpectedly, this dear lady went into severe depression. Not really caring if she lived or died, she really lost her zest for life. Even though she had a husband and daughter to care for, she could not just resume with life as normal. Healing from this type of grief, it is a process. It doesn't happen overnight, in a week, month, or even a year. Sometimes, it takes many years. She accepted a friend's invitation to visit an orphanage in Vietnam. Slowly, her heart begin to heal. She, her husband and daughter found a little boy that they began the adoption process with. This trip opened her eyes to the real world where there was much suffering and despair. She was able to help many, many children in 3rd world countries not only in human trafficking, slavery, and horrible conditions, but helps children in getting medical care they wouldn't otherwise have access to due to extreme poverty or different countries not having advanced medical equipment. I so admire Mrs. Pam for stepping out of her comfort zone and reaching out to the less fortunate. The only thing I didn't care for was the language she used periodically and her talks about sneaking away to grab a cold beer. I don't swear and I don't drink. So these things were somewhat offensive to me. I'm just glad she's helping those kids though! I'd love to go and do what she's done and is doing! http://www.hachettebookgroup.com/books_9780446199698.htm | | |

| Hi Readers! Today it is Thankful Thursday over at The Christian Homekeeper site. http://www.christianhomekeeper.org and I want to know what it is you're thankful for today. I am thankful for Jesus. He is always watching over me and He loves me and takes care of me. Today, I have an appointment with the maternal fetal specialist. Just routine junk. I'm healthy, I feel good, and I am hoping for another 3D ultra-sound with a good picture! I will post said picture if it works out and Hagin cooperates! Also, be SURE to get your Christian HomeKeeper Thanksgiving Planner! It's so neat! It is full of really great and pertinent information regarding Thanksgiving and all its glories! hahaha Have a wonderful, thankful day!

| ** I received no money regarding this book and blog. I do keep the book for free. Title: Girl Talk Author: Gigi Garner Five Star Publications, Inc. GIRL TALK If you enjoy reading tips and hints, you're going to love this book! If you enjoy reading about famous people, this book is for you! You will have the best of both worlds with this book. You will receive tips on career, beauty, health, emotional support and more all from women who are wives, moms, CEOs, actresses, lawyers, tv personalities, authors, and just incredibly, interesting people! The author of GIRL TALK , Gigi Garner, is the daughter of actor James Garner. Just thought the readers would be interested in knowing that little fact! Some of the famous personalities include Sally Struthers, Lucie Arnaz, Joan Rivers and her daughter Melissa Rivers, Shari Belafonte, Jamie Lee Curtis and Naomi Judd just to name a few. One of my favorite tips was by a sound engineer by the name of Illene Van Oos. She was discussing scuff marks on white shoes. She used white toothpaste on her white leather shoes and the scuff mark came right off! Well, wouldn't you know? We were in a hotel waiting to go to church. My little boy took a beautiful reddish/purpley lipstick and drew on his white, leather, tennis shoes. I was horrified! But I remembered this tip and tried it with toothpaste and a dry rag. It worked! I was so relieved!! Lots of useful information in this little book! It's fun reading too!! You definitely need to get your copy of GIRL TALK today!!! | | |
